Until It’s Complete

October 13, 2010

This article is mainly for myself.  Something that I can keep as a reference for when I need to encourage myself (like now).  I hope that it encourages you too!

Most of us are like this penguin.  Too often we tend to carry a load that is too heavy.  Many would compare it to, “the weight of this world”.  Fortunate for us, we do not have to carry this load alone or even at all.

Today I noticed, that the word faith cannot be separate from the word persevere.  You see, in order to persevere we must first have faith. Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. I like the Amplified Version of this scripture also.  From the belief that whatever we ask God(what we cannot see), comes the ability to continue the fight when all else (what we can see) says give up because we know that He hears us and if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.

Hey, even Joyce Meyers admitted that there are times when she has to revisit this particular topic.  So I had to reevaluate my own faith as I continue to struggle with several loads.   But I confess that I no longer want to carry these loads so I surrender them to you Lord.  Can you do the same? Can you surrender your problems to God as an act of faith?  It is a difficult task but you must recall a time when you gave all your issues, joys, and the not so important details to God.

In closing, I have an encouraging scripture that deserves meditation.  A scripture that tells us the that no matter what happens we have something no one can ever take away and that is the hope we have in Jesus Christ.  This hope will keep us in the fight because we are not quitters!! We posses the faith that will persevere until God’s plans are complete.

Remember those early days after you first saw the light? Those were the hard times! Kicked around in public, targets of every kind of abuse—some days it was you, other days your friends. If some friends went to prison, you stuck by them. If some enemies broke in and seized your goods, you let them go with a smile, knowing they couldn’t touch your real treasure. Nothing they did bothered you, nothing set you back. So don’t throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It’s still a sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion.

It won’t be long now, He’s on the way; He’ll show up most any minute. But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust; if he cuts and runs, I won’t be very happy. But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.

Until next time……………..be a blessing!
